About Julie Bishop 
After spending 20 years in Parliament, the Hon Julie Bishop famously hung up her red shoes in 2018 after becoming the first woman to hold the role of Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs. She built a successful legal career before entering parliament, and going on to become one of the most powerful people in Australian politics – serving as the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2018 and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party from 2007 to 2018. Julie is currently the Chancellor of the Australian National University and on the Chair of the Board of Directors for Telethon Kids Institute and Prince’s Trust Australia.
