“I recently travelled to France and Italy to visit some of our favourite producers.

The trip started in Champagne where I met with the team at Taittinger, followed by a day at Louis Roederer. The experiences were incredibly special, and it is always rewarding to be reminded of the patience, skill, and dedication of these houses.

I then travelled to the Piedmont region in Italy where my love of Barolo began almost 16 years ago. I met with some incredible producers who shared valuable knowledge and stories, plus beautifully crafted wines with me. The wines of this region are so alluring, and to be tasting them amongst the breathtaking scenery, alongside local produce was inspiring.

It was fascinating to get an in depth look at other parts of the region such as Alta Langa, which has been producing outstanding sparkling wines that I believe have a strong future in Australia.”
